Workholding for secure workpiece clamping
Workholding secures or supports the workpiece during machining. Lathe chucks, chuck jaws, stationary clamping systems and quick-change pallet components perform different jobs. Choose the clamping approach around the part, machining operation and machine interface.
Choose by the part and setup
Start with the workpiece shape, material, dimensions and surfaces available for clamping. Consider the operations to be performed, cutting-tool access and the required clearance around the part. Then check the mounting interface, actuation method, clamping range and the manufacturer’s stated operating limits for the exact configuration.
For chuck jaws, match the chuck model and documented jaw interface, including the connection and mounting dimensions. For pallet and stationary systems, verify the base, clamping modules and mating components as a system. Nominal size or a similar appearance does not establish a compatible assembly.
Find the right workholding range
Use Brand and Product type to narrow the published selection. The current range includes SCHUNK workholding, with dedicated routes for chuck jaws and quick-change pallet systems. Brand-specific pages remain available for customers who already know their platform.

Frequently asked questions
What should I provide for workholding selection?
Include the machine and mounting interface, workpiece dimensions and material, machining operations and desired clamping approach. Add the existing chuck, jaw or pallet article numbers when matching a current setup.
Will any jaw of the same size fit my chuck?
No. Match the manufacturer’s documented jaw connection and mounting dimensions to the exact chuck model. Check the selected configuration and relevant drawings before choosing a replacement.
Are tool chucks and workpiece chucks in the same category?
No. A tool chuck grips a cutting-tool shank and belongs in Toolholding. A workpiece chuck grips the part and belongs in Workholding.
Can I request a quote for a complete clamping setup?
Yes. Add the exact required configurations to your quote and describe the workpiece and setup. Tech Tool can review the requested components and confirm pricing and availability.
