Technical guidance & FAQs
SCHUNK jaws, adapters and jaw-system components
Jaw selection starts with the existing chuck or vise interface and the required contact geometry. This collection contains different jaw-system components, including adapters and preparation accessories. Verify whether the item is a finished jaw, blank, adapter or tool used to prepare the jaws.
Choose by the application, then the configuration
Identify the chuck or clamping system and its jaw interface before comparing jaw dimensions. Record the existing jaw designation, mounting details and workpiece gripping geometry. Separate a replacement jaw from a blank intended for application-specific machining.
Check the selected jaw’s interface and dimensions against the documented chuck setup. Include the workpiece and machining requirements when asking our team to review a replacement or new arrangement. Similar jaw shapes or nominal sizes do not establish a compatible fit.
Specifications that matter
Review compatible system, interface dimensions, jaw profile, material, mounting and scope of delivery. Read each value with its units and the conditions attached to it. Where the drawing uses a reference letter or subscript, match that reference to the table instead of relying on the apparent proportions of the illustration.

Read drawings and manufacturer documents together
Use the selected product’s technical table, dimension drawing and supporting manufacturer documents together. Check the article or EDP identifier and the document’s stated family or configuration scope. A general catalog page can provide context, but it should not override a current product-specific listing when the two disagree.
Frequently asked questions
Will any SCHUNK jaw fit my chuck?
No. Match the exact interface and named compatible system. Manufacturer compatibility statements may be limited to particular sizes or versions.
Which identifiers are needed to match a replacement jaw?
Provide the chuck manufacturer, model, size and jaw interface, plus the existing jaw article or drawing. Use the selected jaw’s stated suitability and mounting dimensions to confirm fit.
How do I know how many jaws an article contains?
Check its scope of delivery and package description. A selling unit describes the ordered article; it must not be assumed to mean one individual jaw.
Can I choose a jaw by its photograph?
Use the image for orientation and the drawing for dimensions. Confirm the mounting interface and applicable chuck version before ordering or modifying a jaw.
