Identify the oil circuit

Distinguish a hydraulic reservoir from a slideway or another lubrication point. Record the machine model, required specification, current oil and any approval requirements. A similar product name or viscosity does not establish that oils intended for different circuits can be exchanged.

Verify viscosity and performance requirements

Use the exact product’s technical sheet to compare viscosity and the properties required by the machine. Do not infer a machine approval from a general hydraulic-oil designation. Confirm the full requirement, not just a number on the existing container.

Review compatibility before topping up

Identify the oil already in the system and confirm whether mixing is permitted. If the current product is unknown or a change is planned, obtain a suitable changeover procedure.
