Coolant System Restoration: The "Reset Button" for Your Sump

The Coolant Cleaning Essentials collection is the dedicated protocol for restoring machine sumps to factory-clean conditions. Most coolant failures—smell, rust, or instability—happen because fresh fluid is added to a dirty tank, where "Zombie Bacteria" hiding in the lines instantly infect the new charge. This collection brings together Oemeta Chemical CleanersHigh-Suction Vacuums, and Precision Test Kits to give you a complete "System Reset," ensuring your new coolant lasts for years, not weeks.

Why Shops Need a "Restoration Strategy"

Cleaning a sump is more than just pumping out old fluid. You need a 3-step attack plan to defeat the bio-films and sludge that kill production.

1. The Chemical Purge (Strip It)

Bacteria live in "Bio-films"—protective slime layers inside your high-pressure lines.

  • The Solution: Products like Oemeta Cleaner 100 EC circulate while you run production, chemically peeling these bio-films off the metal. If you don't strip the film, the bacteria survive the changeover.

2. Mechanical Extraction (Suck It)

Once the cleaner lifts the sludge, it settles in the tank corners.

  • The Solution: The Coolant Vacuum (Sump Sucker) is your heavy artillery. It extracts gallons of sludge, chips, and fines in seconds, pulling the debris that a standard shop vac leaves behind.

3. Verification & Refill (Prove It)

How do you know it's clean?

  • The Solution: Use Test Strips to verify the rinse water is neutral (pH 7) before refilling. Then, use a Dosatron Mixer to refill the tank with a perfect emulsion, guaranteeing the new coolant starts its life at peak stability.

Essential Tools in This Collection

  • System Cleaners: Cleaner 100 EC (Production Cleaner) and Cleaner EC (General Purpose) to emulsify tramp oil and kill fungal mats.
  • Extraction: Coolant Vacuums to rapidly drain tanks and remove "swarf" (metal sludge).
  • Skimming: Nimatic Belt Skimmers to keep the new coolant breathable by removing hydraulic leaks immediately.
  • Testing: pH and Hardness Strips to validate water quality and coolant condition.

The "Clean-Clean" Protocol

Don't guess. Follow the standard.

  1. Add Cleaner: Add 3% Cleaner 100 EC to the old coolant 24 hours before the changeout. Run production as normal.
  2. Pump Out: Use the Coolant Vacuum to empty the sump completely.
  3. Rinse: Spray down the walls and conveyors. Pump out the rinse water.
  4. Test: Check the rinse water with a pH Strip. If it's still high (blue/purple), rinse again.
  5. Refill: Use a Dosatron to fill with fresh Oemeta coolant at the recommended concentration (usually 7–9%).

Tech Tool Support

  • Stocked & Ready: All cleaners and hardware are stocked in Ohio & Utah for same-day shipping.
  • Lab Verification: Send us a sample of your "dirty" coolant before you clean. We can tell you if you have a fungus issue that requires a specific biocide protocol before you dump.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just use bleach or floor soap?

A: Never. Bleach contains chlorides that cause "Stress Corrosion Cracking" in machine parts. Floor soaps cause uncontrollable foaming that will overflow your tank. Always use a purpose-built Machine System Cleaner.

Why do I need a skimmer on a fresh tank?

A: To keep it fresh. Hydraulic oil starts leaking the moment you turn the machine on. A Nimatic Skimmer removes that oil immediately, preventing the anaerobic layer that causes the "Monday Morning Smell."

How do I know if the cleaner worked?

A: You will smell it. As Cleaner 100 EC kills the bacteria in the lines, it releases a distinct "biological" odor. This is the smell of success—it means the bacteria are being evicted from your system.
